The HEROES Program is our dedicated track of addiction and mental health treatment for the people who served — veterans, police officers, firefighters, EMTs and more. As a proud VA Community Care Network provider, we make sure our heroes get the quality care they have earned, close to home.
Treatment is built around the realities of service: PTSD and moral injury alongside substance use, shift work, and a culture where asking for help was never modeled. You will be in groups with people who understand.

HEROES clients move through the same clinically rigorous levels of care as every Pennsylvania Recovery Center client, with case management and benefits coordination wrapped around them.
As a VA Community Care Network provider, we accept eligible veterans' community care referrals — meaning veterans can receive treatment with us using the benefits they have earned, without waiting on an overbooked VA schedule.
Our case managers handle the paperwork with the VA and help coordinate between the referral, your insurance (including TRICARE — see our TRICARE coverage page) and your treatment schedule, so the administrative burden does not land on you or your family.

Dedicated case management is the backbone of the HEROES Program. One case manager stays with you from the first call through discharge and beyond, handling the practical obstacles that derail recovery — the referral paperwork, the appointments, the letter your employer needs, the housing that has to be in place before you finish.[1]
That means you are not managing the VA, your insurer, your department and your treatment schedule on your own. Your case manager coordinates them, keeps your clinical team informed and makes sure nothing falls through the cracks between systems.

Yes. Treatment records are protected health information. We regularly work with first responders who are balancing a career with getting help.
Yes — dual diagnosis treatment is the standard here, including EMDR and Seeking Safety for trauma, plus psychiatric medication management.
They handle the VA and insurance paperwork, coordinate housing and employment issues, provide documentation for courts or your department, and build your aftercare plan — so you can focus on treatment instead of logistics.
Yes. Sober living is available and often recommended for HEROES clients stepping down from higher levels of care or coming from out of the area.
