Both are standard covered levels of outpatient care. PHP runs about six hours a day, five days a week; IOP runs nine to fifteen hours a week in day, evening or virtual tracks.
Geisinger Gold is a Medicare Advantage plan and covers medically necessary substance use treatment. Cost sharing differs from commercial plans, so we verify your specific Gold plan.
Some Geisinger products require a primary care referral or prior authorization for behavioral health. Our admissions team identifies what your plan needs and coordinates it with the plan directly.
