Cocaine remains one of the most commonly used illicit stimulants in the United States, and deaths involving it have risen sharply over the past decade — driven largely by fentanyl contamination rather than by cocaine alone.[1][2]
Philadelphia's supply has been repeatedly found to contain fentanyl in stimulant samples. People who have never touched an opioid are dying of opioid overdoses.[2][4]
In Chester and Montgomery counties we see the functional pattern: Thursday-to-Sunday use, spiraling spend, sleepless weeks, and an anxiety and depression crash by midweek that gets self-treated with alcohol or benzos.
Crack cocaine carries the same pharmacology on a faster, harder curve, and it still carries the heaviest stigma — which is exactly why people wait years to call. Nothing in our program treats crack as a different kind of person's problem.
