UnitedHealthcare treats substance use disorder as a covered behavioral health condition under parity law. Partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient are standard benefit levels, subject to your deductible and cost share.
Optum applies level-of-care guidelines when authorizing treatment. Our assessment is built to speak that language, so appropriate care is approved without weeks of back and forth.
Continued stay reviews are common. We document each client's BARC-10 recovery capital and PHQ-9 / GAD-7 scores, which gives Optum objective evidence rather than narrative alone.
